Believe it or not, we thought that this whole Covid thing would be over by the time we opened. But, no such luck!
Fortunately, we have LOTS of open outdoor space to spread out and abundant seating around the grounds – social distancing has never been easier. The market will be open as usual, but we need everyone to follow the social distancing and mask rules to keep us out of trouble with the local authorities, and any rogue Kar…. um …. people that might feel the need to turn us in.
Inside the market:
- Enter from the back of the building (admiring the brand new paved parking lot as you do)
- Markings are on the floor 6ft apart, leading you to the bakery, through the market, past the apples, and then the checkout and slushies.
- We have red and white lines to mark where to wait before placing your orders. This will keep the crowds away from the bakery and checkout.
- Mask wearing will be in alignment with the State requirements of the day. Tough to pin this one down since it changes on the regular.
- After checking out, smile at our staff since they will be smiling back at you behind their mask, and exit from the south door by the checkout.
- Repeat purchase of our goodies as many times as you like.
Other info:
- Plexiglass is installed as required at both the bakery and checkouts.
- Masks will be required per current State rules of the day
- Hand sanitizer is provided on the walls as you enter the market
- Hours have been extended to 7:00 PM to hopefully reduce congestion.
Activities and Events:
- Hay Rides – As of 8/12, our local health department has deemed hay rides with no more than 10 people, 6ft apart, wearing masks, in an outdoor setting far too risky and we are not allowed to have them. Hopefully we can work this out but as of now, no hay rides
- Fall Festival – We are not currently permitted to have our fall festival, trail race, craft show, etc. This may change, so check often on Facebook and our web page for information. Per State rules, we can’t have a craft show, but can have a flea market. We have no idea what the difference is. Also, they are racing in Lake County, so perhaps Ashtabula will allow them soon.
- Haunted Woods – As of now, probably not, but if restrictions are lifted we will try to make this happen if we can.
- Playground – The playground is open. Enjoy!
- Walking Trails – The walking trails are open!
