Frequently Asked Questions

Can We Pick Our Own Apples?

  • Update: U-Pick will start on September 14th.  Cortland will be the first availahle variety.
  • We allow u-pick starting in mid-September when the more abundant varieties ripen. Early in the season the harvest is limited so we must manage volumes between market apples, cider, and bakery. Watch Facebook for announcements on when u-pick is available.

When Will Cider be For Sale?

  • Update (as of 8/20) – we will have cider for sale by the gallon / half gallon / pint on Friday August 23.
  • Cider by the cup and slushies are always available, but to meet the demand for sale by the gallon / half gallon we must wait until a sufficient quantity of apples of the right varieties are harvested.  These don’t ripen until later in August so we are unable to offer cider for sale when we first open.    We post to facebook when the first pressing is ready to go.

Is Your Cider Pasteurized?

  • Absolutely NOT, which is why is tastes so good! Our apple cider is about as natural as you can get – apples are harvested from the tree, washed, ground, and pressed to juice.  The juice is chilled immediately, sediment is left to settle overnight (no filtering), and we bottle the next morning.  That’s it!  We press on Monday and Thursday and are generally sold out  before the next pressing so the cider you buy is always fresh.    As long as clean apples are used (no drops) and equipment is cleaned and sanitized, no pasteurization is required.   Ohio Department of Ag requires that our cider is only sold at our store, is for personal use, and cannot be resold or redistributed.

Why are There Limited Varieties When You First Open?

  • Our 27 varieties are harvested starting in early August with the last variety harvested in November.  Each variety is different and cannot be picked until nature says it’s ready.  Be patient!

What Forms of Payment do you Accept?

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash, and Check.

Do You Allow Pets?

  • You are welcome to bring your dog to enjoy a picnic or walk our trails.  We ask that you keep pets on a leash and clean up after them.

Do You Ship Products?

  • We tried this for awhile, but the small amount of volume we had in online orders didn’t make sense to keep it going.  We do have shipping boxes for apples available for a small charge if you want to have someone ship product to you.

Do You Deliver?

  • We typically do not, but if you have a large order or need a delivery for an event we may be able to accomodate.  Please contact us to discuss.

Do you Rent the Orchard for Weddings?

  • Yes we do, and it makes a really unique venue.  We can also offer our vacation rental houses as part of the wedding rental package which can be used to get ready, or ummm, crash if you partied too hard.  See our weddings and events page for more information.   We cannot rent the orchard during the season  but the vacation rentals can be booked any time.

Can We Reserve an Area for a Birthday or Event?

  • We do not take advanced reservations for portions of the seating areas during the season.

Can I Pre-Order Bakery Items?

  • Yes!  Pre-ordering bakery items is encouraged to make sure you get all the goodies you came for!  Call the market at 440-224-0639 to place your order. It’s best to call during the week because we may not answer the phone on the weekends.

I Tried Calling the Market on a Busy Saturday or Sunday. Why is No One Answering?

  • Weekends are very busy at the orchard and sometimes the can be a distraction from serving the customers that are in the market. We do our best, but we may not be able to answer. For bakery pre-orders, it’s best to call during the week. Alternately, you can email or Facebook message us for any concerns (note that we won’t take orders this way).

When Do You Close for the Season?

  • We are open 10-7 until the day before Thanksgiving.
We post to Facebook much more often than we update the web page, so for daily specials and news about current events, it’s best to follow us there.
